Topping off the 1960's was a movement known as the "British Invasion" that overtook the american people and changed the American lifestyle as we know it. The highly popular British bands of the mid 1960's infected millions of American teenagers and young adults and sparked a Revolution of peace and love. Using instruments like the guitar, bass, and drums, band members supported the singer as he or she sang.(1)This new style of music was more modern and more likable than the conservative music that had been the music that most Americans listened to. With new bands came a new style of music. The structure of the songs became more and more complex as bands became more imaginative. The intertwined guitar solos and melodic harmonies due to the influence of British culture, allowed bands to write more modern styles of music which was more pleasing to the American crowd. (2)
